The most hated font in the design world became the unlikely hero of a campaign for more inclusive design.

There’s Nothing Comic About Dyslexia uses Comic Sans, a font often dismissed by designers but favoured by many people with dyslexia, to challenge the creative industry to rethink the relationship between aesthetics and function.

By giving Comic Sans a voice, we turned its notoriety into a direct campaign aimed at the people who can influence change: designers. The message was simple: inclusive design doesn't have to compromise on aesthetics. The challenge was to create fonts that are both dyslexia-friendly and beautiful.

Together with type designer Daniel Brokstad, we brought this idea to life with a typeface as variable as dyslexia itself.

As part of the campaign, we teamed up with type designer Daniel Brokstad to create a typeface that brings function and beauty together.

By deconstructing Comic Sans, we identified the characteristics that make it dyslexia-friendly and used them as inspiration for a new typeface that embraces the same irregularity, reimagined through a more considered aesthetic.
