Kia wanted to promote its EV ecosystem and charging network with a piece of branded content that reflected its ethos of “Movement that Inspires” and established them as a culture brand.

We found that many people still believe in the myth of road trips to more remote places not being accessible for EVs. We also realized that in recent years, inflation and the cost of living crisis have pushed creative people to move away from the capitals in favour of smaller, more affordable cities. 

And so “Uncapital Route” was born, a docu-style film series exploring six underrated creative hubs beyond the European capitals - all aboard the Kia EVs
Together with VICE Media, we dove into the thriving creative scenes of six “uncapital” cities: Granada, Offenbach, Turin, Marseille, Manchester, and Rotterdam. 

Each film explores a different angle on self-expression and creativity from design, music and crafts to food & drink, dance and art.

The films, shot and produced in each market’s native language, follow a simple premise: 
A local VICE host hits the road in one of the Kia EVs headed for their uncapital destination. There, they meet local creatives who offer an insider perspective on unique local scenes and detail how these cities inspire their practice.



A total of 6 countries, 6 cities, more than 20 artists, all to show the possibilities of the Kia Electrified network.
